Interview With Author B. E Chenault

The Farmer's Guide to Astronomy

1. What inspired you to write your book?
I wanted to be entertained, amazed and educated by facts and stories that would allow me to escape from reality and sleep soundly at night after reading a chapter or two in the book.

2. What is it about?
The book is about latest theories regarding the origin of the universe and where we fit in and where we came from, so ultimately the book is about us a humans but it also about the strangest things that have happened to people with regard to space exploration and of course the book is about some of the bizarre incidents in the universe like days that last years, worlds that are compressed into cities and how people can walk in space at 18,000 miles an hour.

3. What do you hope will be the everlasting thoughts for readers who finish your book?
We better make the most of human life because it is so fleeting and so rare when compared to the solar system, the galaxy and the universe, life has been found only on Earth and is so rare it might have been created by accident.

4. What advice do you have for writers?
Write from the heart or with passion and always emphasize the human element.

5. Where do you think the book publishing industry is heading?
I don't know as I am too inexperienced to give a prediction

6. What challenges did you have in writing your book?
Understanding complex concepts to the point where I could break them down into understandable and interesting bits of information and then relate it all to the human experience.

7. If people can only buy one book this month, why should it be yours?
I am not sure there is a book out there like this that combines astronomy, space exploration, historical data, the human experience and elements of philosophy to give the reader a better idea as to where humans came from, while entertaining readers with facts from space and human behavior that are too bizarre to be true, and combines many topics, facts and real life stories to give people a different perspective on them as individuals and us as national and global society.
