Key Book Marketing Tips & Challenges

Marketing Tips
·         Marketing is a contact sport. If you don’t follow-up and touch others they won’t follow-up with you.
·         Sometimes you need to make repeated efforts to reach out to someone. They may be busy, having a bad day, or distracted by something. Or they may truly not be interested in what you are offering. Rework your approach and keep trying until you have resolution. You need to be a chameleon and morph into what they need. Be what they want.
·         The Internet mirrors Wall Street somewhat. The marketplace has temporary advantages and then the popularity of a site or stock spawns competition and criticism, which forces the seeking of new markets. Competition creates invention. You are only unique, new, or first for a brief period of time.

4 Marketing Factors
The key influencers to marketing yourself depend upon:

1.      The topic quality of your book and its potential readership size
2.      The price of your book
3.      The location you will market to
4.      The publicity attached to your book

Obviously in order to build and maintain your brand and its reputation, you’ll need to supply these:

·         Provide a high-quality book and service
·         Maintain the highest ethical standards in all of your business dealings
·         Clearly define your offer and what you stand for
·         Make all of your correspondence, presentations, ads, social media, and press relations positive and informative
·         Be viewed as an active member of the community/industry
·         It also helps if you are aligned with a charity or cause.
