·         There are 40 million e-readers and 65 million tablets in use in America.

·         E-books generated sales of $282 million vs. $230 million in print for Q1 of 2012 for the members of AAP.

 The global porn industry saw its revenue cut in half from $20 billion annually to 10, from 2007 to 2011. The US porn industry cut revenue in half, too, from 10 to 5 billion dollars over that same period.

·         Gone With the Wind has sold over 30 million copies but it has been outsold by many books, including, for example: War and Peace (36 million), Charlotte’s Web (45 million), Catcher in the Rye (65 million), Da Vinci Code (80 million), The Hobbit (100 million), Lord of the Rings (150 million), A Tale of Two Cities (200 million).

·         The median 2010 salary for a writer is 55,420 per year – or $26.64 per hour.
