Interview With Author Joyce E. Bolton

.

1.      What inspired you to write this book? I Love God. I have loved God ever since I was a little girl. God has helped me to be independent and adventuresome instead of lonely. He has made me a leader instead of a follower and filled my life with so many things to be grateful for. It breaks my heart that there are so many children in the world who don't know anything about God because they live in a home or environment that the adults don't think God is important or the adults just do not know anything about God themselves. No one should every say, "I do not believe in God," if they do not know anything about God. In writing this book, I was hoping to reach some people who are curious and have no idea where to start or even that it is up to each one of us to find out. How many people can truly answer intelligently when asked the question, What is God?

2.      What exactly is it about — and who is it written for? It is an inspiring story about an eight-year-old boy named Rusty who brings this question to his mother after pondering the importance his best friend puts in attending Sunday school. Rusty and his mother together set off to find the answer about God and what they discover. It is written for anyone who is asking this question to themselves or has someone who is asking them this question.

3.      What do you hope readers will get out of reading your book? Inspiration to start searching for themselves the answer, along with the basic principles of God to start with.

4.      How did you decide on your book's title and cover design? Title was what I wanted it to say.

The cover picture lets you know it is a book from the heart written in simple language and not some scholarly reference text. God is simple, not hard.

5.      What advice or words of wisdom do you have for fellow writers - other than run!? It is all about exposure.

6.      What trends in the book world do you see -- and where do you think the book publishing industry is heading? Sadly, I see hardback books suffering but I happen to love to hold a book in my hands when reading. I feel the social media has taken away from a "good book" experience time.

7.      Were there experiences in your personal life or career that came in handy when writing this book? I have studied this topic my whole life.

8.      How would you describe your writing style? Which writers or books is your writing similar to? I do not write like anyone I have read.

9.      What challenges did you overcome in the writing of this book? Finding a publisher to look at.

10.  If people can buy or read one book this week or month, why should it be yours? My book topic is not like anything else they have read. It maybe all new concepts to them.

I love the outdoors and one of my life's ambitions is to hike all the trails in every National Park around the world. I love to laugh, I mean really laugh, so humor is a must for each day; if it's not there, then I need to bring it. I love stories, listening to them, telling them, and reading them.
