The key to a book’s success lies not just in its cover,
title, price, genre, or actual content. No, for a book to be successful today,
whether by the metric of sales or branding, it comes down to one simple thing:
Authors must be willing and able to promote their book, even if they have a
traditional publisher behind them (which 85% of all authors do not). And this
requires skills and knowledge, as well as time and money, but most of all, it
demands an attitude of YES from the writer.
* Say yes, I will take ownership of my book
marketing. No one else will.
* Say yes, I can do this. I have to.
* Say yes, I will seek out promotional
opportunities, even create them, to give my book a boost.
* Say yes, I will not accept “no” from those I
solicit for help. I will find a way to YES.
A yes mindset is simply a determined will, a way
of being, thinking and acting. You must choose to embrace an attitude of yes,
and yet it really is not a choice. Failure is not an option.
When you believe you can get someone to say yes,
it is because you believe in your book, and because there just is not room for
a “no” attitude. You get to yes because you insist on it. It is a combination
of merit, opportunity, and attitude.
Sure, there will be times when you lose or fall
short of a goal, when you get rejected or ghosted. But you simply don’t accept
these temporary setbacks as anything permanent. They are battles that can be
lost on the way to winning the war.
Authors who embrace the attitude of yes:
* Write more books
* Have successful books
* Win book awards
*Get strong media coverage
* Land publishing or movie deals
* Build a powerful social media platform
* Positively impact readers
* Are in a position to change the world
The attitude of yes is powerful. It launches
businesses, wins games, finds loving relationships, brings in political
revolutions, solves problems, and makes one successful, happy, and beautiful.
Move towards an attitude of yes and you will embrace and unleash the most
powerful and rewarding gift that resides within you.
