Interview With Author Bobby P. Kinzer

1. What inspired you to write this book? There are many books written about the professional in the United States but very few about the International Basketball Experience.

2. What exactly is it about — and who is it written for? My book is about the fame, fortune, & experiences in playing professional basketball in Europe. It is written for basketball enthusiasts and non-basketball enthusiasts. It is meant to be a personal development & inspirational book.

3. What do you hope readers will get out of reading your book?  How to persevere and deal with unexpected circumstances. That obstacles are only opportunities to better your situation.

4. How did you decide on your book’s title and cover design? I thought about the dichotomy of the theme The Other Side of the Hoop meaning all the different experiences other than the basketball side (cultural, relationships, business, etc.). Also, the play on words about the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. The design tried to depict some of those experiences.

5. What advice or words of wisdom do you have for fellow writers – other than run!? Everyone has a story and it's your anecdotes that makes it interesting and different from everybody else.

6. What trends in the book world do you see -- and where do you think the book publishing industry is heading?  More people are going the self-publishing route.

7. Were there experiences in your personal life or career that came in handy when writing this book?  Yes, my book is about those personal experiences which I was able to gain numerous pearls of wisdom!

8. How would you describe your writing style? Which writers or books is your writing similar to? I use humor and intellect.

9. What challenges did you overcome in the writing of this book? Procrastination

10. If people can buy or read one book this week or month, why should it be yours? At the end of each chapter there are lessons learned. The reader will begin to realize "The Blessings are in the Lessons!"
