Interview With Author Brian Walker

 


1) What inspired you to write this book? Over the past dozen years, 7 out of 10 people who have heard 2-3 of my stories, have all agreed that I need to write a book. Ergo.  

2) What exactly is it about, and who is it written for? It's about what happens to an individual who lives their first 54 years, with unknown bipolar disorder. Not only is it written for those who suffer from it, and those who have friends/relatives. It is also intended for anybody who loves a thrill ride, into things most people don't consider.  

3) What do you hope readers will get out of your book? A) a better understand of BP disorder, and the hell these people live in. B) to be entertained by my singularly unique life, and the adventures that I've had.  

4) How did you decide on your title and cover design? The title just seemed to fit, as my life has been indeed, manic beyond understanding. I designed the cover to give a peak as to what is inside.  

5) What advice or words of wisdom do you have for fellow writers? I am afraid that I am so new to this that lacking the knowledge and experience to dispense "words of wisdom", is a little bit above my pay grade.  

6) What trends in the book world do you see - and where do you think the book publishing is heading? I believe that the days of the traditional/legacy publishing will continue to decline. For $4k, I can have a proofread, edited, cover design, etc., that is ready to get to a print-on-demand service.  

7) Were there experiences in your personal life or career that came in handy when writing this book? Every page of this book is a direct result of my manic life.  

8) How would you describe your writing style? Which writers or books is your writing similar to? Once again, due to being so new to writing, I cannot, as of yet, try to define my own particular style. But here's the strange part. I can write like nobody's business, sometime going 8-10 hours. But due to my dyslexia and ADHD, when it comes to actually "reading", it has always been extremely difficult for me, so thus, I have not read a whole lot of books.  

9) What challenges did you overcome in the writing of this book? I can't really think of any challenges, other than with my brain disease, sometimes it can be a bear, remembering words. But mostly, I found that writing has come very naturally.  

10) If people can buy or read one book this week or month, why should it be yours? The story is poignant, relevant and very exciting! 

About The Author: On Aug. 15, 2022, I decided to switch from being an inventor for 67 years, to becoming a writer. My life has been beyond the pale when it comes to the strange and bizarre. My adventures are like none that people have done before.
