Interview with author Travon Taylor

Success Chasing You! A Journey to Discovering One's True Purpose and Achieving Greatness in Any Area of Life

Q1. What really inspired you to write your book, to force you from taking an idea or experience and conveying it into a book?
A. I discovered my inspiration to motivate and inspire in the Marine Corps. When I was in the 4th grade, I was teased and bullied consistently. That caused my self-esteem to plummet and that stuck with me all the way through high school. When I joined the United States Marine Corps, I adopted the “Can Do” attitude that the Marines were so well known for. I began to try a lot of new things. I had some successes, and I had some failures, but along the way I realized I wasn’t afraid to try anymore. I started realizing more successes than failures and took lessons from both.

I was inspired to write a book many years ago on the principles of life success, because I never wanted others to go through life like I did in my young years. I wanted to inspire as many people as I could, and I felt a book was the best way to accomplish this. I believe it is very important to take the lessons learned from our life experiences, both good and bad and share them so others may learn from both your successes and your failures. I have now have taken the next step and established a seminar production company - Living In One-Ness - that is designed to bring people together in unity to create success.

Q2. What is it about and whom do you believe is your targeted reader?
A. Success Chasing You! is about aligning every aspect of your life in order to become a magnet for success. There are universal laws that govern the world we live in, and if we understood how to use them to our advantage, our lives will improve drastically. It focuses on changing your world from the inside out. Your outside world will reflect your inside world.
This book is targeted to anyone who feels they are living below their potential, to those who feel they are stuck in the rat race and know deep inside they want to become more but don’t know how.

Q3. What do you hope will be the everlasting thoughts for readers who finish your book? What should remain with them long after putting it down?
A. The impression I hope to leave for my readers is that of confidence and empowerment to be ‘be more’. I hope that by the time they put the book down, they are more aware of their own importance and uniqueness. I want my readers to not be afraid of challenges anymore, but embrace them as growth opportunities that serve as building blocks to their own greatness and legacy.

Q4. What advice or words of wisdom do you have for fellow writers?
A. Stay authentic, freely share your knowledge, and stay humble. Know that what they are writing can change or even save lives for generations to come.

Q5. What trends in the book world do you see and where do you think the book publishing industry is heading?
A. The trend I see growing in the book world is using a book as a marketing tool. More professionals are using a book to position themselves as experts in their prospective fields to increase their credibility.

Q6. What great challenges did you have in writing your book?
A. Staying consistent. Staying in my flow. There were times where I felt too tired or distracted to write effectively. Every time I put pen to paper, I wanted to be at my best and not just go through the motions. I used to listen to motivational videos on Youtube or read other inspirational books, and it would trigger me and take me to high mental peaks of writing. Just even sitting and meditating for 10 or 20 minutes would do the trick to get me back on course.

Q7. If people can only buy one book this month, why should it be yours?
A. I believe Success Chasing You! will get people to a position of power in their lives. It is comprehensive, practical, and very effective strategy guides that will help readers become success magnets in every area of their lives.
