What type of books do you write? Both of my books are non-fiction. My
first book Hi, my name is Mary Ann is the story of my husband and I getting
married at the age of 22 with high hopes for the future. Instead my
husband became an abusive alcoholic that drove me crazy. So I escaped into a
world of gambling. The next thing I knew i was now a Compulsive Gambler in deep
debt and nowhere to run. I was going to kill myself until I found
Gamblers Anonymous and got help. I am a member of Gamblers Anonymous now
for 22 years. The icing on the cake was when my husband got sick with a
heart disease that required him to need a heart transplant or die. Somehow we
came out of it with ultimate triumph
What is your newest book about? My newest book Remember Me should be
coming out soon is a sequel to Hi, my name is Mary Ann. It describes how I go
crazy when Eddie passes away. I relieve the 11 good years Eddie had with
his new heart. But after his death I bring in memorable charters and colorful
language as the fight over the estate takes place.
What inspired you to write it? My heart doctor suggested me to write about the
whole experience that we had been hoping we could help others know they
are not alone. There really is help out there.
What is writing process like for you? I found the writing very easy because I was
telling my own story and every word was with truth and conviction It was also a
healing process for me.
What did you do before becoming an author? I work for the Department of Finance in the
city of New York.
How does it feel to be a published author? It feels wonderful. Sometimes I think
did I really write that book? I know now I can do anything if I put my mind to
it.
Any advice for struggling writers? Don't ever give up. If writing is your dream
just keep going.
Where do you see book publishing heading? My dream is that someday someone will tell me
my book or books together would make a good movie or even a Broadway play
