Book Marketing Is Fun!

Which of these things do/did you dislike doing the most?

* Going on a diet
* Reducing your spending
* Looking for a job
* Selling & buying a house
* Creating a will
* Training a puppy
* Putting your dog down
* Going to the dentist
* Cleaning out the basement
* Doing your taxes
* Planning a funeral
* The day after a natural disaster
* Getting into an accident
* Recovering from surgery
* Filing for divorce
* Getting sober
* Hearing a bad medical diagnosis
* Bailing your kid from jail
* Being sued or suing another

Now, not all of these things are equal in their importance, but all of them are bound to cause you to twitch a little. They are some of the many unpleasant, anxiety-inducing things that most of us may have to confront at some point in life.

Now, compare that to book marketing. Where does that rank on your list of little horrors?

For some, it could still rank high, but as you can see, there are many more things that likely strike terror and cause more pain in people than to be tasked with marketing their book. So, the next time you fret about marketing your book, remind yourself of the far more unpleasant and unrewarding life experiences that are out there.

Come see book marketing as not just an obligation, but a fun opportunity to spread the word about your book. Be on a mission to help others by getting your book to them. If you believe your books helps another, makes them happy, or informs them of useful things, then you should love and embrace the act of marketing your book.

And it beats dealing with death, destruction, or the IRS!
