1. What motivated you to write your book, to force you from taking an idea or experience and turning it into a book?
I have had a great life and have been fortunate to achieve
success in many aspects of my life. That said, I wanted to give back and help
other people become more happy and successful. I like to say my goal with the
book is to make the world a better place by helping people find THEIR better
place. Having worked with very successful people, professional athletes,
billionaires, successful parents, teachers, etc... a well as not so successful
people, I have had the rare opportunity to observe and study what the
successful people do. They have a completely different spirit and energy about
them. I wanted to document this BUT do it in a way that was entertaining so I
created a fictional story/novel to deliver the message.
2. What is it about and who is it for?
The book is for anyone that wants to achieve more success
and happiness with their life. To provide direction for anyone that is seeking
self-improvement, growth and navigating their spiritual journey. We
all have parts of our lives that are flourishing and parts that need healing.
Things we would like to change and improve. We all have struggles, set-backs,
regrets, dreams, blessings and opportunities. The proper mindset and actions we
put to these life circumstances makes all the difference. Hopefully this book's
message will help anyone on this journey.
It will gravitate to people that enjoy inspirational and spiritual messages.
The fictional story is about a successful business person who experiences a
very negative life event and he comes to a crossroads in his life. He
decides to take his great leadership abilities and spiritual beliefs to become
a catholic priest so that he can help progress the church's mission. He soon
finds that the catholic church needs to be more progressive and through his
motivating sermons and media attention, he inspires millions. The church is not
happy with his approach and due to his controversial prediction as to what
could happen to Jesus Christ if he were to return, the church rejects him. He
then takes an extended retreat to Spain at the Camino de Santiago during which
he publishes 50 principles that if followed one principle per day, after 50
days a person will achieve more success and happiness.
3. What do you hope the reader will be left with after reading it?
My hope is that the reader will be inspired to execute each
of the 50 principles, one per day and experiences finding their better place.
That they become happier and more successful in their life. I also hope that
through the story, they are entertained and can relate to the spiritual
message.
4. What advice or words of wisdom do you have for fellow writers?
Writing a book is a journey. My journey took over six years. If you really believe in your book's message, stay with it. Get guidance from other writers and persist forward. Keep trying to make it better and better. You will know when you have completed it.
5. What trends in the book world do you see --
and where do you think the book publishing industry is heading?
I see the book industry becoming more like the music industry. Readers will be influenced more by those that connect with on social media and they may even be able to purchase portions of books (like songs vs complete albums) to trial it and determine if they want the entire book. Self publishing will continue to grow.
6. What challenges did you overcome to write
this book?
Being a business executive, my biggest challenge was time. Finding the time to write a quality book was challenging at times. I found the creative part to be easier than I thought it would be. Meditating about it stimulated my mind and I believe the universe guided me with the entire message.
7. If people can buy or read one book this week or month, why should it be
yours?
During a time when so many people are divided, my book
provides an uplifting message so everyone can find their better self and in
turn, make the world a better place...together. I also believe that today more
than ever, many question their spirituality. My book will help them connect
better with their inner spirit while learning to use the power of the universe
to enhance their lives.
