1.
What
really inspired you to write your book, to force you from taking an idea or
experience and conveying it into a book?
In June 2014, I went to a rock concert on
Long Island. A few days later, when the vand was in Philadelphia, their tour
bus burst into flames. I tried to find out what happened, but
nothing solid arose. It appeared that no determination
was made. I had to have an answer, so I wove my own mystery tale about it. The
band in my story hires a lady private detective and she discovers who and what
started the bus fire.
2. What is it about and whom
do you believe us your targeted reader?
My lady PI, Tracy, is hired, not only to
sniff out an arsonist, but to protect a famous rock star from deeper, darker
dangers. There are relationships, friendships and romance in my books.
I’M targeting those in the 20 years of age
and up audience mainly women. This series is not groupie or teenage
stuff.
3. What do you hope will be
the everlasting thoughts for readers who finish your book? What should remain
with them long after putting it down?
I want readers to feel satisfied that
they’ve read an interesting mystery and be eager to pick up the next book in
the series. Each novel has its own mystery, but the main characters are the
same and have a continuing drama.
4. What advice or words of
wisdom do you have for fellow writers?
I don’t know if there’s any specific
advice one writer can give another, except maybe Go for it!
If that’s your dream just do it! Don’t let anyone or anything stand in your
way, including yourself.
5. What trends in the book
world do you see and where do you think the book publishing industry is
heading?
E-books and audio books are taking
over, especially audios. I’m still seeing same old, same old in
storylines. I wanted to do something different and I did.
6. What great challenges did
you have in writing your book?
I enjoyed writing the first 3 books of the
Tracy Gayle mystery series. I’ve written several Tracy short stories too. I
love my characters, my private eye and her rock star sidekick, Danny
Tide. The rapport between them is incredible from the start. I had fun
asking people questions and doing research.
7. If people can only buy one
book this month, why should it be yours?
Because It’s written well, a great escape
during the pandemic, & just those lazy afternoons in front of the window.
