The Big Five Publishers: An Overview


Now that Penguin’s merger with Random House is official, what does the publishing landscape look like? Below are the bigger publishers, along with their divisions and imprints. It is good to know how things are connected. However, this list, compiled in part  by Writers Marketplace: 2014 a year ago, and updated recently, in a few cases may already be outdated. Still, you get a good understanding of how big these five giants really are. They are listed, in no particular order:
