Have you seen some great movies, such as A Few Good Men? Malcolm
X? The Terminator? Forrest Gump?
How about A Few Hard Men? Malcolm XXX? The Sperminator? Forrest Hump?
The
porn industry is notorious for naming its skin films after popular, well-known
and liked movies. Why? Their humorous puns or play on words show their
craftiness. The title’s familiarity makes us associate a positive outcome from one
movie with another. Besides, even if you don’t know the original movie name, these
monikers still sound catchy and work on their own.
Authors need to think a little more like porn producers. No, I don’t mean you should worship the objectification of humans, nor do I recommend you should start taking your clothes off to earn a buck, though I know it can pay better than writing books sometimes, but I am saying that their witty and playful tool to market their films is commendable.
Authors need to apply
some of that thinking when crafting press release headlines, email subject
lines, blog post headers, and social media quips. The name of the game is book
marketing is to get one’s attention – and then to say something worthy of others
placing their focus on you.
Below are a few dozen catchy adult film titles. Perhaps you
have even seen some of these films – or now have a shopping list for Christmas.
In any event, look, learn, and customize as you see fit to meet your marketing
approach. Adopt the mindset of puns when crafting the headlines of your next
social media post – and maybe even your next book’s name.
