- What inspired you to write this book? I tried to kill myself because I could not deal with the hardships of my life, but God intervened and gave me a life of abundance.
- What exactly is it about and who is it written for? It’s about dealing with the hardships of life and what led me to attempt suicide and how God saw me through it and gave me a life beyond my dreams. The book is for anyone dealing with depression or feeling hopeless about life.
- What do you hope readers will get out of reading your book? God is in control. Hard times are seasonal, if anything they are to make you stronger, not to defeat you. God allowed it and will see you through it.
- How did you decide on your book’s title and cover design? The title was from my life experiences, this is actually how I feel about my life, I was broken and now I’m blessed beyond measure. The cover design symbolized the storm is over, and I’m on the other side of the storm.
- What advice or words of wisdom do you have for fellow writers – other than run!? Share your stories. Continue to give hope and inspire as many people as possible with your stories.
- What trends in the book world do you see -- and where do you think the book publishing industry is heading? It seems to me that people don’t take time to read books like they did in my childhood, before all this modern technology, computers, cell phones. I hardly see anyone reading a book other than myself in my family, I would hate to see the publishing industries fall under or disappear. The youth only seem to be concerned about things online.
- Were there experiences in your personal life or career that came in handy when writing this book? Yes, the story is about me, and my short comings, my hurts, and pains, my trials, and my blessings. You can’t have one without the other.
- How would you describe your writing style? Which writers or books is your writing similar to? The author Brant Hansen made a major impact on my style. His book titled (Unoffendable) fed me valuable information and had me entertained with his humor.
- What challenges did you overcome in the writing of this book? Putting this story into words and then reading it, made me realize all that I have been through from my youth to the man I am today and how blessed I am to still be here, there is a reason I’m still here. My challenge now is to share with those in need of inspiration and uplift., I would like to point them to Jesus.
- If people can buy or read one book this week or month, why should it be yours? We all know someone that is in need of inspiration at some point in their lives. My story is about me being at my lowest and how God saw me through it, and in return allowed me to travel the world, healed my broken heart, my troubled mind, my finances. He fixed everything that was broken in my life. At some point we all will be broken in some areas of our lives. I feel my book can give hope to a weary soul on the verge of ending their life, this is my prayer. You might not need this type of inspiration today, but you will need it at some point in your life, and after reading my book I hope people will be better prepared for the storms of life.
About The Author: I grew up in a small
town in Southern New Jersey, named Bridgeton. After high school I started
working in the nearby casino industry in Atlantic City. At age 30, I moved to
Savannah, Georgia to start a new life and try to leave bad memories behind. I
ended up working youth corrections for three years, and then a door was opened
for me to work as a federal contractor overseas. I have worked as a federal
contractor for the past twenty years, providing security at American military
installations, as well as American Embassies, while they were under
construction. Working in over ten different countries and traveling to many
more, experiencing things I could not imagine for myself. I say this, because
when I was twenty-seven years old, I attempted to take my own life, but it was
by the grace of God that I did not die. Not only did He give me my life back,
but He gave it in abundance. My goal is to share my story with those who want
to give up on life and let them know that there is something waiting for them
on the other side of their struggles.
