The Messy Book Marketing Solution

My teen-age daughter asked for my help recently. Her room was in disarray. I will get called in as the clean-up specialist every six months. I can help her organize her room and create order. It is what authors need when it comes to their messy marketing efforts.

Authors need inspiration, support, and guidance. Their approach to book marketing can be sloppy and haphazard. They need to clean their act up.

Let’s do a Marie Kondo makeover of your book marketing.

All authors need help in getting started.

Either they feel stuck and blocked and fail to launch— or they need to take steps to fix where they fall short in their feeble attempts to market.

Authors need to have a vision. Just like my daughter needed to visualize how her room could look, a writer needs to map out and imagine where she needs to go and identify what is needed to get there.

Sometimes, authors just need to take time to reflect and to get things going in the right direction. Take some time to get it right.

Reclaim your territory. My daughter had to take ownership of her room and reclaim it, quadrant by quadrant. She felt a burden lift as she started to see carpet where clothes, books, and bags had occupied. Her room was working against her; now it works for her.

Make sure your marketing is functional and practical. It needs to be organized, prioritized, and easily accessible. You will not only feel better once you get your act together — but you will feel empowered and unencumbered.

Go clean up your book marketing now!
