1. What inspired
me to write this book?
Both
my son and daughter have been my biggest critics and inspiration to this
day. They knew how much I enjoyed
writing poems, being retired gave me all the time I needed to focus on
developing my passion for writing.
2. What exactly
is it about and who was it written for?
It's
about a nine-year-old- girl and her mother moving to a new town where their lives
take on so many twists and turns. The little girl finds a library book that
teleports her into the rain forest of Waterfall Bay; later war breaks out; they
must find a way to protect themselves and the fate of a new world that's
coming. It was written for those readers ages thirteen and up!
3. What do you
hope readers will get out of reading your book?
I
hope the readers would get a positive message of common sense and values;
knowing that there's no challenge too great that a person can't conquer.
4. How did you
decide your book title and cover design?
My
decision for the title came when I created the characters, the rain forest of
Waterfall Bay and the orbs a must have energy source for the story. The cover design I was able to work with the
publisher.
5. What advice or
words of wisdom do you have for fellow writers- other than run!?
Don't
give up, enjoy the process. At times
you'll have some roadblocks step away, allow your ideas to marinate, and get
back to it.
6. What trends in
the book world do you see - and where do you think the book industry is
heading?
It
has more independent writers and it has become a digital base meaning audible
is the new trend.
7. Were there
experiences in your personal life or career that came in handy when writing
this book?
Yes! Experiences from my personal life found its
way in the story which did come in handy for sure.
8. How would you
describe your writing styles? Which
writers or books is your writing similar to?
I
don't know how to define my writing style but I do know that I'm creative and
the more writing I do will give me a better knowledge of my style. The book is unique and has no ties to other
writers or books.
9. What
challenges did you overcome in the writing of this book?
My
biggest challenge was staying positive, focused, and encouraged in order to
complete this book and getting it published.
I believed that I could do this and I did.
10. If people can
buy or read one book this week or month, why should it be yours?
I
think people should choose my book because it's an amazing read with a
fantastic storyline which allows the readers to partake in journeying with each
fictional characters while learning at the same time how to survive among the
many twists and turns of excitement that played out at first with two
characters; water lily and butterfly landing in a beautiful paradise named
Waterful Bay.
