1. What inspired you to write this book?
My personal experiences
and other Chinese international students’ true stories. Those stories are
wonderful and impressive.
2. What exactly is it about and who is
it written for?
The book is about Chinese
international students in America: their study, life, love, and adventure.
During universities, some of the students studied hard and achieved academic
success, while the other spoiled students failed in school or even went to a
jail. The book enlightens Chinese students the America high techs and education
ideas. The book also provides knowledge of America history and geography, such
as U.S National Parks and beautiful cities. The fiction is written in
Simplified Chinese, with 35 beautiful color photo inserts. Readers who want to
understand Chinese students in America should read this book. The
fantastic/adventure stories are very good for movie/TV/Streaming.
3. What do you hope readers will get out
of reading your book?
All readers can understand
Chinese students in America, their academic study and controversial behaviors. The
fantastic/adventure stories in “Long Journey” are good for movie/TV/Streaming
industry. Chinese students can learn America innovative methods which are real
knowledge Chinese students should know.
4. How did you decide on your book’s
title and cover design?
America is quite far from Chinese
students’ hometown. They come to study like a journey of life. The book
introduces lots of attracting beautiful places which can guide Chinese student
travelling. So, I chose “Long Journey” as the title. The cover is Los Angeles
downtown and its background mountains because the main plot happened in Los
Angeles.
5. What advice or words of wisdom do you
have for fellow writers – other than run!?
Using real experience to create
works.
6. What trends in the book world do you
see -- and where do you think the book publishing industry is heading?
Like retail stores, publishing
industry will continue to move online, other than on paper. Fictions should be
adapted to movie/TV/Streaming.
7. Were there experiences in your
personal life or career that came in handy when writing this book?
Yes.
8. How would you describe your writing
style? Which writers or books is your writing similar to?
Realism and humor, I am not intended
to copy someone’s style.
9. What challenges did you overcome in
the writing of this book?
How to arrange and compile true
and fantastic stories to novel plots because those stories have to happen on
one or several characters.
10. If people can buy or read one book
this week or month, why should it be yours?
The book has such features:
The topic is unique, the contents are comprehensive, the stories are fantastic,
and the thoughts are profound.
